426 | Full-time Professional Nanny/Family Assistant for Clifton Family

Requirements:

Start date:
As soon as the family finds the right fit. 

Schedule:
40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. On occasion and with advance notice, the family may ask the nanny to stay later.

Pay Range:
$28–$35/hour dependent on experience, education, and expertise. Overtime rate of time and a half goes into effect after 40 hours/week. The expected gross amount is $1,120–$1,400/week, or $58,240–$72,800 annually. Taxes will be withheld.

Benefits:
Family will offer 15 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick, and personal days. Nanny will also receive 11 paid holidays (New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day). The family will provide a car for the nanny to drive. The family will guarantee pay at 40 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off or ends a day early. Healthcare stipend is negotiable.

Children:
The family has 5 children 3 daughters 13, 11, 9 and 3 months and a son who is 9. The 4 older children live with the family one week on one week off and have a part-time nanny who supports their afternoon care. The nanny/family assistant care will primarily be for the infant, G3mos. The PT nanny has been with the family 3 years and primarily in charge of the older kids, she is a great partner working as a team with the parents. The nanny/family assistant may occasionally help picking up an older kid if sent home sick or help transport to an occasional practice or give oversight around the house. The older kids are all in activities like horseback and soccer, but are not over scheduled. G3mos. is just starting to develop personality and preferences and has been a happy, easy baby. She loves to interact, smile back and look around at things. She goes to bed around 9:00 p.m. and sleeps through the night. The parents wake her at 7:00 a.m. to go with Mom and drop the kids at their schools. She is bottle fed formula. G3mos is not on a set routine, they just follow her cues. The family is open to a routine for her if the nanny desires, but for the weekends she is ‘along for the ride’ with the bigger kids, therefore the parents prefer for her to be flexible to that. G3mos is part of a fun, loud and chaotic household when all the big kids are there!

They hold family meetings every other week to discuss responsibilities, allowance, schedules, and family life, and have systems in place to help the household run smoothly. Family time is important to them. They enjoy family dinners, movie nights, video games, crafts, shopping, outdoor play, and spending time together. Both parents are actively involved and genuinely enjoy watching their children grow and become their own people. Mom enjoys creating fun, thoughtful traditions and special touches for the family, while Dad loves joining in on the fun, especially video games and activities with the kids. Mom primarily works from home, though she is not necessarily available during the day. Dad occasionally works from home occasion. They are looking for a nanny who will become a collaborative part of the household “ecosystem.”

Duties include
Basic care and clean up after children. Child’s meal prep and bottle prep. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. Washing family dishes, unloading/loading the dishwasher. The family encourages getting out for activities, walks, and play with the infant. Transportation occasionally to school or activities with the older kids. Household support: running errands, grocery pick up, some with easy family meals on occasion. Family laundry is shared with PT Nanny; the older children will fold and put away their own laundry, including bedding and towels. The family uses Asana and Skylight Calendar to communicate schedules, tasks, and household needs. They have established systems to help the children manage their rooms and belongings. The primary responsibility of this role is caring for the 3-month-old infant. Household and family assistant duties are secondary and integrated into the role.The nanny/family assistant should be comfortable partnering with the parents and PT Nanny and contributing to the overall household “ecosystem” with a team-oriented, flexible approach. When the family travels duties will shift toward household support and significant pet care.

Pets:
The family has six dogs, including a Saint Bernard, Bernese Mountain Dog, three Miniature Schnauzers, and a Miniature Poodle. The dogs spend a significant amount of time outdoors in a fenced-in, turf-covered ‘mini dog park’.  Nanny will be responsible for basic pet-related tasks, including cleaning up after the dogs a few days per week. Pet care will also be required when the family travels. The family also has a bearded dragon, cockatiel, and parakeet. These pets are largely self-sufficient, but the nanny/family assistant may occasionally be responsible for providing food and water, particularly when the family is traveling.
