Start date:
Early October. Potentially earlier if desired by the right candidate. 

Schedule:
46 hours/week, Mon – Thurs 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and  Fri 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

Pay Range:
$24-26/hour at the start (one child) with raise to $27-29/hour (two children) at 6 months into employment. Hourly rate dependent on experience, education, and expertise. Overtime rate of time and a half goes into effect after 40 hours/week. At 46 hours/week, the expected gross amount is $1,176- 1,421/week, and an expected $64,974 – $67,070 annually. Taxes will be withheld.

Benefits:
Family will offer 10 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick and personal days. Nanny will have 8 paid holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) as they fall on a nanny’s work day. In addition, when the family travels, the nanny will have an additional 2-3 weeks per year off and paid.The family will reimburse miles driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 46 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early. 

Children:
The family has one child, a 16-month-old daughter, and is expecting baby #2 mid-September. Care for the baby will not be needed until approximately 6 months of age, as Mom will be home on maternity leave through mid-March. Their daughter is full of personality—active, social, happy, playful, adventurous, and increasingly independent. She loves music, dancing, playing tag, swinging, and spending time outdoors. She is a great sleeper and eater, attends music and movement class twice a week, naps from approximately 11:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. The family keeps screen time to a minimum. With the baby the family will follow an eat-play-sleep routine, with a focus on age-appropriate development, tummy time, motor skills, books, and engaging activities. The ideal transition is for the nanny to first build a relationship with their daughter before caring for both children together.

They encourage their daughter to understand others, explore new experiences, and build confidence through age-appropriate independence. They enjoy an active lifestyle and spend lots of time outdoors. Family outings include walks with the dogs, trips to the park, coffee walks, grocery shopping, and visits to the zoo and museum . They love including their daughter in everyday adventures and exposing her to new experiences.Their parenting style is relaxed but intentional. As their daughter learns boundaries, they focus on consistency, helping her understand the “why” behind expectations while balancing guidance with independence. Mom has a flexible schedule, working both from home and the office, and is often the parent who relieves the nanny. She is typically home on Fridays and may occasionally stop in at lunch. Dad works outside of the home and leaves around 8:00 a.m. The parents appreciate proactive communication and enjoy receiving updates throughout the day via a shared text thread. What they love most about parenting is how excited their daughter is to see them each day—running to the door for hugs, snuggles, and affectionate greetings.

Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after children. Children’s meal prep. Children’s laundry. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. Transportation to/from school and fun activities. Updating baby log via the Huckleberry app.  

Pets:
The family has two friendly dogs: an almost 9-year-old black Lab mix and an almost 4-year-old German Shepherd mix. Pet care responsibilities are minimal and include letting the dogs out into the fenced backyard as needed and ensuring their water bowls remain full. The dogs spend most of the day sleeping.

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional, long-term nanny with infant and toddler experience who is dependable, nurturing and knowledgeable. They value a reliable nanny who is compassionate, patient, and understands child development, with the ability to support milestones through age-appropriate activities.
