421 | Full-time Professional Nanny for Mt. Lookout Family

Requirements:
– Professional childcare experience, 2 years minimum

Start date:
As soon as we find the right candidate. 

Schedule:
37.5 or 40 hours/week. 4 days/week, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. One day per week can be half day  (8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.) to make 37.5 hours/week or another full day to make a total of 40 hours/week depending on the needs of the candidate. Some occasional flexibility in hours required.

Pay Range:
$24.00–$28.00/hour, depending on experience, education, and expertise. Overtime is paid at time and a half for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek. The expected gross pay is $960–$1,120 per week, or approximately $49,920–$58,240 annually. Taxes will be withheld.

Benefits:
Family will offer 10 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick and personal days. Nanny will have 7 paid holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). In addition, when the family travels, the nanny will have an additional 7-14 days per year off and paid. The family will reimburse miles when the nanny drives their own car during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 37.5-40 hours/week (depending on preference of candidate), even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early. Healthcare stipend is negotiable.

Children:
The family has two children, a son who is 2.5 years old and a daughter who is 15 months. . B2 is outgoing, silly, active, and sensitive. He loves being active in the playroom and at the park, but equally enjoys reading, listening to audiobooks, and recently started playing pretend with action figures. B2 is working through toddler big feelings but responds well to teaching and loves his little sister. B2 will attend preschool on Thursday and Friday mornings. He is still napping once per day, is transitioning to potty training, and is a good eater. G15mos is more reserved around strangers but comes out of her shell when she gets to know you – she is sweet and a little sassy in the best way. She is walking, talking, and adores her big brothers (B2 and Golden Retriever). She loves to read (and be read to! Loves silly noises and impersonating/repeating, explore, and snuggle. She is currently taking two naps but will be transitioning to one nap per day in the coming weeks. She is weaning off bottles slowly and is a great eater. Both children love to take walks, go to the park, and enjoy the occasional errand/class/play-date (i.e. swim lessons, grocery shopping). Overall, they love their routine and family time above all else.

Family values:
The family prioritizes instilling kindness and empathy in their children. They also aim to guide them to be hard-working, humble, yet confident in themselves. They hope their children remain curious about the world, ultimately wanting them to be balanced, happy, and content. The family enjoys spending time together, whether playing in the playroom, taking walks around the neighborhood, or having dinner together. They want their children to be an integral part of their lives and to experience the world alongside them. When it comes to guidance, they want to practice hearing and respecting their children’s feelings while letting them know there are boundaries and setting expectations on appropriate behavior. They are working to raise both children to be respectful and polite. Mom will be going back to work full-time (4 days per week). Dad has a flexible but changing work schedule; he will be in and out of the home. The parents are smitten every day, enjoying watching their children learn and reach every milestone. They cherish the smiles, belly laughs, silliness, and the development of their unique personalities.

Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after children. Some of the children’s meal prep. Laundry. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, child’s bottles + dishes, putting stuff away, etc. Transportation as needed.

Pets:
The family has one dog, a friendly Golden Retriever. Nanny can let him out in the fenced front yard. No other pet care is required.

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional long-term nanny who is safe, trustworthy and kind. They may continue to grow their family in the future, so infant/toddler experience is required.  An ideal nanny would be warm and have a good sense of humor, enjoy playing and engaging with kids and seek to partner with the parents. They want a nanny who is confident and proactive so the parents feel content leaving for the day. Safety conscious looks like being attentive and aware, taking into consideration: car seat safety, park safety, choking hazards, the environment, age-appropriate toys, etc. The family requires a 1 year commitment, but could see the role being needed for the next 3+ years with preschool schedules and potentially another baby.
