About the Family:
A widowed mom of two in Cincinnati is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and upbeat Household Assistant who can keep her home running smoothly and provide warm, encouraging support for her very high-energy 11-year-old son. This home is lively, active, and full of love — and includes three dogs (one very large and two small). Because the dogs are an important part of daily life, the family needs someone who is genuinely pet-loving, attentive, and able to give them interaction and care throughout the day. The younger son, B11, is bright, funny, and happiest at home, but he benefits from gentle encouragement to try new things and explore new activities. B16 is fairly independent and care is not required. The ideal candidate brings calm to the chaos, enjoys managing the moving pieces of a busy home, and thrives in an environment where autonomy is valued.

Role + Duties:
This Household Assistant would manage day-to-day operations in a busy family home and is ideal for someone who thrives in a self-directed environment, enjoys the company of pets and kids, and can handle the flexibility (and occasional isolation) of working independently from the home. The focus is on hands-on tasks to keep the household running smoothly while the primary homeowner manages a business. No extensive travel required—delivery services can be used for errands. The assistant will act as the “head of household” during work hours, using provided credit/loyalty cards for purchases. Attention to detail, trustworthiness, and experience with family/pet dynamics are essential. This is not a supervisory role over multiple staff; it’s about being a proactive stand-in for the homeowner. Main Responsibilities and Time Allocation Responsibilities are clustered by category, with estimated percentages of weekly time (35-40 hours/week). Daily tasks assume a routine schedule aligned with school hours and family needs.

1. Cleaning and Household Maintenance (30% of time)
Ensures the home stays clean and orderly post- cleaning team visits, focusing on quick, ongoing upkeep rather than deep cleaning.
Perform daily laundry (2 loads to prevent buildup).
Tidy up common areas, including running the vacuum/sweeper daily to manage pet hair.
Stay on top of dishes to keep the sink clear
Organize cluttered areas as needed (daily checks, deeper organizing weekly).

 2. Meal Preparation and Snack Management (20% of time)
It is critical that the candidate be able to follow a meat and potatoes type of cooking and be well-versed in the kitchen. B16 is a 200 pound football player
Plan and prepare daily meals, including meal prep and communication with family members to avoid hunger gaps.
Prepare and have snacks ready for children upon returning from school.
Emphasizes efficient, family-friendly cooking to support busy schedules.

3. Pet Care (15% of time)
This is a key part of the role for someone who genuinely enjoys animals.
Feed the three dogs daily (noting the large breed’s needs).
Spend quality time with the dogs, including play or companionship to keep them content.

4. Child and Family Support (15% of time)
Limited to basic oversight; not full-time childcare, but ensures smooth transitions
Be present when children arrive home from school to provide supervision and a welcoming environment.
Coordinate any immediate after-school needs in alignment with family routines.

5. Administrative and Errand Tasks (10% of time)
Focuses on low-effort organization to prevent pile-ups.

Check mail daily and sort/dispose of junk mail.
Stock basic household items and groceries weekly, using delivery services as preferred.
Liaise with contractors at the rental property as needed (may vary, but typically brief daily/weekly check-ins)

6. Financial and Vendor Oversight (10% of time)
Ensures efficient spending and smooth operations without micromanagement.
Manage budgets for groceries and home supplies using provided credit/loyalty cards. •
Coordinate with vendors or handymen for repairs/maintenance (hiring as needed, but not performing the work).

Hopes:
The family hopes to find someone dependable, compassionate, and confident — a long-term partner who can bring warmth, structure, and positivity to their daily life. They especially value someone who can nurture children and support a home environment that feels stable, supportive, and well managed.
