Schedule:
40 hours a week, Monday – Friday. The family is flexible and open to aligning the start and end times with the nanny’s preference, with a typical schedule of either 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Pay Range:
$25.00–$30.00/hour, dependent on experience, education, and expertise. Overtime is paid at time and a half for hours worked over 40 in a week. The expected gross amount is $1,000–$1,200 per week, or $52,000–$62,400 annually. Taxes will be withheld.
Benefits:
Family will offer 8 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick and personal days. Nanny will have 6 paid holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). In addition, when the family travels, the nanny will have an additional 2 weeks per year off and paid. As transportation is added to the role, the family will provide a car to drive during the workday. The family will guarantee pay at 40 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early.
Children:
The family has one son who is 5 months old, though he was born early and is currently developmentally adjusted to about 3 months. He may be a bit shy at first but is generally easygoing and enjoys age-appropriate activities such as black-and-white cards, tummy time, grabbing toys, books, and interactive play—especially when caregivers talk, play, and babble back with him. His day typically includes waking around 8–9 a.m., playtime and feedings, short naps of about 30–40 minutes, and feeding approximately every 2.5 hours. He is fed primarily breastmilk via bottle (mom pumps), currently taking about 4 oz per feeding, with some formula supplementation. He still wakes during the night, usually around 1–2 a.m. and 5–6 a.m. The family looks forward to incorporating walks into his routine as the weather improves. The family welcomes professional insight from an experienced infant nanny and enjoys collaboration, while ultimately guiding and deciding on approaches that best align with their values as their baby grows.
Family Values:
This family values independent thinking, trustworthiness, dependability, hard work, healthy habits, and integrity. They enjoy spending time together through travel, dining out, neighborhood walks, and trying new experiences, and they appreciate a playful, engaged approach to life. Mom works from home with a flexible schedule and is available to help if the baby is crying for an extended period, while Dad works from home a couple of days per week. For them, the most rewarding part of parenting is seeing their son happy as he grows and develops.
Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after the child. Child’s meal prep. Child’s laundry. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. In addition family assistant duties include: running errands or grocery pick up, family dishes, unloading the dishwasher in the morning, bottles, keeping the kitchen picked up and organized, washing and folding linens, taking the car in for maintenance/service, basic meal prep (like cutting vegetables. These duties will be as able as care for the baby is always the priority. Transportation to activities is not desired in these early infant stages, but encouraged as the child’s schedule and development allows.
Pets:
The family does not have any pets.
Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional long-term nanny/family assistant with infant experience who is trustworthy, responsible, and patient—someone who will do the right thing even when no one is watching, follows through reliably, and remains calm and steady with a baby. This caregiver will promote healthy infant development, respect the family’s values (including gentle sleep practices such as no cry-it-out), and bring an honest, proactive, and team-oriented approach to the role. The family requires a 1 year commitment, but could see the role being needed for the next, 2-3 years.
