Children:
The family has 3 boys: a son who is 2 years old and twin boys who are 8 months old (5 months adjusted). B2 is a fearless, active, and verbal toddler who enjoys pretend play with his Woody and Buzz toys, trains, matchbox cars and their tracks. He loves being outdoors, digging in the sand, and playing in the sprinkler. He’s also starting to learn how to throw balls. Screen time is limited to one show per day for B2 to avoid him getting too wound up. He takes a bath every night and is a great sleeper, though on occasion he may try to resist naps and bedtime. He attends preschool Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm; Mom typically will pick him up each day. The twins are 8 months old (gestational age 5 months). TwinG8mos is a calm and easygoing baby who’s doing great. He’s about to start solids, sleeps through the night, and has a well-established nap routine. TwinG8mos is a relaxed, chill baby who’s starting to sit up, loves being held, enjoys spending time with his big brother, and interacting with the family dog. He wakes up around 6/6:30 a.m. and follows a consistent 3 nap schedule: 8:15 – 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. (his big nap), and 3:30 p.m. He takes a bath every other day, has a bottle at 7:00 p.m., rocked to sleep, then a dream feed at 9:00 p.m. TwinG8mos is formula-fed and takes medication to prevent the growth of his hemangioma. TwinR8mos is currently still at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital but is expected to come home in the next two months. He undergoes procedures regularly to help with his nourishment. TwinR8mos is making great eye contact and is still developing his personality. He’s a good eater, is coo-ing more, and doing typical baby activities. He has excellent head control and loves sitting up with assistance, though he’s still quite small and not yet on the growth charts. At first care will be for TwinG8mos, but as TwinR8mos progresses care will be for both twins. Care for B2 will be limited to after school, school breaks and summer breaks.
Family values:
This family places a strong emphasis on being pro-family. Despite TwinR8mos’ challenging prognosis, they chose to face it together as a family, prioritizing family unity, putting their children first, and their marriage as a cornerstone. The parents run a business together and cherish quality time together. Meals are always shared as a family, never in front of the TV, and they strive to have home-cooked dinners each night. Weekends are filled with family activities, including spending quality time with BTwinR8mos at the hospital and attending mass together. Since Covid they have kept a rhythm of taking nightly family walks together before bed. They are a close-knit unit that enjoys working in the yard, gardening, and spending time with both sets of grandparents, whom they see weekly. They also enjoy activities like trips to the zoo or the pool. When it comes to guidance for B2, since he is so social, they find that time in his room alone is usually effective. Mom has a pretty set work schedule, balancing her responsibilities with TwinR8mos outpatient care. Her typical office hours are Tuesday – Thursday, 8:30/9:00 a.m. to 3:30/4:00 p.m. and she plans to work from home while taking care of errands and household tasks. Dad works full-time outside the home. They would say the best parts of parenting are the bedtime routines, reading with them, seeing their personalities evolve, B2’s developing vocabulary and interests, and building a strong bond with them.
Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after children. Children’s meal prep. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. Transportation to fun activities. Potentially travel care while parents attend conferences with additional compensation (preferred but not required).
Pets:
The family has one dog, a French Bulldog. The only pet care would be letting him out in the fenced backyard
Covid Approach: (5) Very Open
Socializes without social distancing, masks, or recommended etiquette. Not taking any extra precautions to protect oneself from infection outside what is normal. Not personally concerned with being infected.
*1 parent is vaccinated and 1 parent is not
Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is looking for a professional, long-term nanny (5+ years of experience) who is adaptable, safety-conscious, and aligned with their values. While it’s not required, the family would appreciate a nanny with experience caring for multiples (such as twins), special needs, or a background in medical care. The ideal candidate should be patient, compassionate, adaptable, and eager to learn the specific needs of a special needs child. Given the family’s strong faith and value-driven environment, they are seeking a nanny who shares these principles and demonstrates strong personal character. The nanny should be passionate about her role, enjoy creating a fun and nurturing environment, and be dependable and punctual. The family requires a 1-year commitment, with the potential for the role to extend 3-5 years as the family continues to grow.
