Benefits:
Family will offer 8 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick and personal days. Nanny will have 10 paid holidays (MLK Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). In addition, the nanny will have 1 week off and paid (between Christmas and New Years) and may have an additional 1-2 weeks off. The family will reimburse miles driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate and at time can provide a car for nanny to drive. The family will guarantee pay at 40 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early. Healthcare stipend is negotiable.

Children:
The family will have three children, 2 daughters ages 8 and 6 years old and a baby due at the end of July (will be 3 months at start). Care is predominately for the baby, but the older girls will be home in the afternoons and the summers. G8 is very sweet, super fun. She is smart, a rule-follower, happy, and helpful. G8 enjoys crafts, sports (especially soccer), Girl Scouts, playing outside with the dogs, riding bikes, and card games. B6 adores her sister and loves doing anything with her. She is super sweet and social. G6 enjoys running outside, riding her scooter, crafting and watching a little TV. She still sometimes naps. G8 is entering 3rd grade and G6 is entering Kindergarten. During the school year, the bus picks them up at 7:45 a.m., and drops them off at home around 3/3:15 p.m. The parents will get them on the bus in the mornings and the nanny will get the girls off the bus, provide a snack, and help with homework in the afternoons. The baby will be about 3 months old. The parents want to breastfeed and eventually establish a routine with regular nap times. Safety is a huge priority to them. This includes safe sleep, monitoring around water, cutting grapes, wearing helmets, etc.

Family values:
This family values kindness toward one another and hopes to instill positivity and the ability to stand up for oneself. Their Catholic faith is important to them. They focus on being positive, kind, and patient, and focusing on what they can control. They enjoy spending time together, including vacations to the beach and Lake Michigan each year. Other favorite activities include sitting on the back patio, taking walks with the dogs, swimming in the pool, hiking, and playing card games. The kid’s sports schedule also keeps them pretty busy. When it comes to screen time, they set a limit of one hour per day. Mom works from home a majority of the time; she plans to go into the office for a couple hours each morning and return home to work the rest of the day, so that she can breastfeed the baby. Dad’s job will be flexible between working at an office and from home. They would say the best part of parenting is seeing their children grow into funny, kind individuals and getting to witness their sibling bond.

Duties:
– Basic care and cleanup for the children
– Preparing meals for the children
– Keeping the house tidy and organized, including wiping counters and tables, vacuuming, and putting things away
– Assisting with homework
– Light meal preparation for the family, such as cutting vegetables
– Family laundry
Note: The family employs a housekeeper, so there is no additional cleaning required. Transportation is not necessary, but as the baby grows, the family may be open to outings starting in the spring or summer.

Pets:
The family has two dogs: a black Labrador and a golden Labrador. They roam the house freely but can be crated if necessary, depending on the nanny’s comfort level. Both dogs are large—weighing 80 lbs— but are sweet and playful.

Hopes: The family seeks a professional, long-term nanny/household manager with at least 2 years of professional childcare experience, ideally 5+ years, and a preference for infant experience. They prioritize qualities such as dependability, trustworthiness, positivity, patience, kindness, and nurturing abilities. Safety is paramount, so they need someone highly safety-conscious, attentive, and capable of teaching safe practices. The role entails an initial 1-year commitment, with potential to extend for up to 4 years.
