Benefits:
Family will offer 4 PTO days per year to be used for vacation, sick, or personal days. Nanny will receive 5 paid holidays (Christmas Eve, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day) as they fall on the nanny’s regularly scheduled workdays. In addition, when the family travels, the nanny will have an additional 4–5 weeks off per year with guaranteed pay. A family vehicle will be provided for work-related driving. The family will guarantee pay for 20 hours/week, including when the family gives the nanny unrequested time off, the family is traveling, or the family ends a scheduled workday early.

Children:
The family has one 8-month-old daughter. She is a sweet, spirited, and active baby with a fun sense of humor and a big personality. She loves being on the go, enjoys being outside, and especially loves watching dogs. She is curious and increasingly mobile, pulling up, standing, and beginning to crawl. She enjoys books and age-appropriate activities. She is very social and loves being close to her parents, particularly Mom, and enjoys lots of interaction and engagement throughout the day. G8mos is nursing and currently takes approximately 4 bottles per day. The family uses the Huckleberry app to track sleep and routines, and the nanny will be asked to use it as well. She is a great sleeper, typically sleeping from approximately 8:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with two daytime naps around 10:00/10:30 AM and 2:30/3:00 PM. She typically feeds before naps and sleeps well once settled. She is becoming more comfortable with her car seat and stroller and is getting better with both. The family lives close to many great outdoor activities and looks forward to visiting places such as Ault Park once she is fully vaccinated. The family prefers outdoor activities and is thoughtful about which indoor play spaces she visits.

Family values:
This family values having a strong moral compass and wants to help their daughter develop a sense of kindness, compassion, respect, and personal responsibility as she grows. They want to expose her to different perspectives and encourage her to be open-minded and thoughtful about the world around her. They also place a strong emphasis on developing independence and practical life skills as she gets older, including helping with cooking, learning daily routines, and participating in age-appropriate activities. They enjoy spending time together at the Zoo, going for walks, and exploring the community. As she grows, they would like to spend more time at parks and eventually introduce her to sports and other activities. They also enjoy visiting the farmers market. Mom works from home in a patient-facing telehealth role and may have times when she needs privacy and quiet for calls. She is comfortable interacting with the nanny during breaks and lunch, but the nanny should be comfortable working independently. Dad works long hours and may occasionally be on call. When he is home early, he generally allows the nanny and child to continue their routine with minimal interruption. The family does not wear shoes in the home and values a calm, orderly environment. The parents especially enjoy watching their daughter grow and reach new milestones. One of the best parts of parenting for them is seeing her learn new things, become more independent, and progress through each stage of development.

Duties include:
Basic care and clean-up after the child, including child’s meal and bottle preparation. Keeping the home picked up and orderly throughout the day, including wiping counters and tables, vacuuming, putting things away, and tidying up after the child. Transportation to activities as schedule allows. Nanny will also be asked to keep a baby log through the Huckleberry app to support communication and consistency with the parents.

Pets:
The family does not have any pets.

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional, long-term part-time nanny who is safety-minded, attentive, nurturing, and patient. They want someone who understands infant safety, including safe sleep, car seat use, and safe driving, and who is attentive to the child’s individual needs and development. The ideal nanny will enjoy play, reading, activities, and hands-on learning, while also being punctual, trustworthy, organized, and a strong communicator. The nanny should be active and physically capable of carrying a baby and navigating many stairs throughout the day. The family requires a 1-year commitment, with the potential for the position to continue for up to 5 years as their childcare needs evolve.
