Taxes will be withheld.

Benefits:
The family will offer 5-8 PTO days to be used for vacation, sick and personal days. Nanny will have 12 paid holidays (New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Day). In addition, the nanny will have 10-14 days the last weeks of December each year off and paid. The family will reimburse miles driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 30 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations or ends a day early.

Children:
The family has an infant daughter who is 4 months old. She is a pretty easy baby with a smiley, curious personality and loves engaging with the world around her. She enjoys books, listening to  music, and strolling outside. She has great head control during tummy time, enjoys tracking toys and faces, and is beginning to grab and hold objects. She is exclusively formula fed every 90 minutes – 3 hours during the day, with larger feed overnight. She follows a fairly predictable bedtime routine, usually sleeping from around 6:30/7:30 p.m. – 6:00/7:00 a.m. with one wake-up overnight. Daytime naps are currently the biggest challenge, as she prefers contact naps and often takes shorter naps, typically 20–30 minutes at a time with the occasional longer stretch. The family would appreciate support creating more consistent daytime nap routines while still responding to her cues. Mom describes herself as someone who loves schedules but also believes that when the baby cries, there is usually a reason. Their daughter previously struggled with a cow’s milk protein allergy and reflux, though both are now well managed, and she is healthy and gaining weight appropriately.

Family values:
This family seeks to instill independence and resilience, along with the emotional and practical skills needed to grow into a well-adjusted adult. They value kindness and compassion and will seek to understand her unique personality and support her individual interests. They also hope to foster confidence and bravery, encouraging her to try new and challenging things without fear.
The family enjoys spending time together going on walks and being outdoors. As their daughter grows, they look forward to visiting the zoo, museums, and the library, and encouraging her to be exposed to a wide variety of experiences that help her explore what she enjoys and more. When it comes to guidance, the parents will aim to be compassionate while maintaining firm, consistent boundaries with open communication. Both parents work full-time outside of the home, with Mom occasionally working from home (maybe 1/month). Open communication is very important to them. They view the nanny as a partner in their village and value their input, ideas, and feedback. The goal is a positive, collaborative relationship with open, two-way feedback. They say the best part of parenting is seeing their daughter’s smiles and the strong connection they share, noting how she has positively changed their perspective on life.

Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after the child. Child’s laundry. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. Transportation to age-appropriate social activities in time, once the baby has a set routine. Nanny will be asked to keep a baby log (via Huckleberry App) for the time being.

Pets:
The family does not have any pets.

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a professional part-time nanny who is nurturing, trustworthy, and communicative. The ideal candidate will have prior infant experience and feel confident supporting developmental milestones. Strong communication and a team-player mindset are essential.  They are looking for someone who is engaging and intentional about fostering learning, connection, and healthy routines. The family requires a 1-year commitment, but if all is going well, could see the role continuing beyond.
