In addition, the nanny will have additional paid time off when the family travels. The family will reimburse mileage driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 40 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off, when the family vacations, or when a day ends early.

Children:
The family has three children, 2 daughters who are ages 11 and 9, and a son who is 7. The older girls are independent, bright, and responsible, and are fairly self-sufficient with homework and routines. They are active in extracurricular activities and will need transportation to and from activities and practices. B7 is energetic, playful, and benefits from some homework support and guidance. The children enjoy spending time together as a family, being active, and engaging with friends and activities in the community.

Family values:
This family values kindness, integrity, hard work, and strong character. They hope their children grow into respectful, goal-oriented individuals with confidence, resilience, and strong morals. The parents value consistency, structure, and follow-through while also creating a warm, loving, and fun home environment. They are seeking someone who can confidently partner with them in parenting while bringing positivity, calm leadership, and organization into the home. The family enjoys spending time together, trying new experiences, traveling, and supporting the children’s interests and activities.

Role/Duties:
This role will evolve throughout the year between child-focused support and household management responsibilities.

Household Management (During School Hours):
The Household Manager will take proactive ownership of the home’s daily operations to create a seamless, organized, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Systems & Organization: Developing and maintaining organizational systems for key areas (pantry, closets, play areas, mudroom).
  • Inventory Management: Proactively managing and restocking all household staples, groceries, and children’s supplies, maintaining a running shopping list.
  • Meal Planning & Prep: Planning a weekly menu for the children, grocery shopping, and prepping ingredients for easy, healthy meals. Cooking of children’s snacks/meals and occasional start to family dinners.
  • Household Calendar & Scheduling: Managing the family calendar for children’s activities, appointments, and social engagements. Liaising with and scheduling household vendors (e.g., cleaners, plumbers, gardeners) as needed.
  • Home Readiness: Ensuring the home is “reset” and ready for family time at the end of the day—tidying common areas, managing mail/packages, and handling children’s laundry from start to finish.
  • Errand & Project Management: Efficiently running errands and managing special projects as directed by the parents (e.g., sourcing birthday gifts, preparing for holidays, organizing returns, coordinating home maintenance/vendors).

Nanny & Child Development (After School & During School Breaks):
The Nanny will provide a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment that fosters the children’s growth, independence, and well-being. Responsibilities include:

  • Logistics & Safety: Managing all child-related transportation, including school pick-up/drop-off and activities, with an impeccable focus on safety. No use of cellphone or any devices during transportation.
  • Academic Partnership: Providing dedicated homework support and creating a structure for academic success.
  • Enrichment & Engagement: Planning and executing age-appropriate, stimulating activities that limit screen time, such as crafts, outdoor play, educational games, and local outings. The children are allowed to watch 1 tv show and only use iPads for Spanish learning Duolingo.
  • Social-Emotional Mentoring: Fostering social-emotional growth, teaching conflict resolution, and modeling kindness, resilience, and respect.
  • Routine & Independence: Upholding established daily routines to provide consistency and security, while actively promoting age-appropriate independence and life skills (e.g., tidying their own space, packing their school bag).

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Act as a trusted partner to the parents, maintaining open, honest, and proactive communication.
  • Provide a daily summary of the children’s activities, moods, and milestones.
  • Prepare upcoming schedules, goals, and priorities for both the children and the household. This will include holding all school events, activities, break for parent’s calendars and attending events when schedule conflicts occur.

Pets:
The family does not have any pets.

Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is seeking a long-term Family Assistant who can become a trusted and valued extension of their family. They hope to find someone who is proactive, dependable, engaging, and deeply invested in building strong relationships with the children over time. The family requires a 1-year commitment, but hopes to find someone who could remain with their family for the next 5–9 years.
