The role will offer 10 vacation days and 4 sick days. Nanny will have 7 paid holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving,Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). The family will reimburse miles driven during the workday at the federal mileage rate. The family will guarantee pay at 40 hours/week, even in the case where the nanny is given unrequested time off or when the family ends a day early.
Children:
The family has two children, a son who is 3.5 and a daughter who is 9 months. B3 is a curious, gentle child with a sense of humor. He loves meeting new friends at the park or pool. He is excited to start preschool in the fall and will chat your ear off about it. He enjoys trains, building, and spiderman. He naps daily 2-4pm. G9mos is an easy going second child and loves to watch whatever her big brother is doing. She naps daily from 2-4pm when her brother does and is an independent sleeper. Lunch time and music bring out her adorable shoulder shimmy dance move. She is close to crawling and cannot wait to follow her brother around. They are both flexible children who enjoy outings daily to the zoo, museum, libraries, Sports Club pool, parks, and splash pads.
Family values:
The parents have a mutual love and respect—and just have a lot of fun together. They desire to raise their children in that same spirit. They value learning, autonomy, independence, and a strong work ethic. They hope to teach their children to be responsible and to figure things out on their own; rather than simply giving them everything they want, they believe in allowing space to fail and learn. They are very service-oriented and seek to model how to treat others with kindness and respect. They enjoy spending time with family, close friends, and neighbors. They also love sports and working out. The parents enjoy cooking healthy meals together—making it fun and using that time to unwind. Mom works outside the home, while Dad works full-time from home. When they think about parenting, they anticipate the joy of seeing the values they instill in their children come to life—watching them grow into respectable, honorable, loyal, and good people. They are excited to see how their children will one day bring their extended families together, create new traditions, and make the holidays even more meaningful.
Duties include:
Basic care and clean up after children. Children’s meal prep. Keeping the house picked up and orderly, wiping counters/table, vacuuming, putting stuff away, etc. Transportation to activities and preschool.
Pets:
The family has 1 cat. No pet care required
Hopes:
Ultimately, the family is looking for a loving nanny to become a part of their family. It’s most important to the parents that the children feel nurtured, emotionally supported and excited to spend time with the nanny each day. The family hopes that the nanny will become invested in the growth of the children and engage them with activities as they grow. They hope for someone reliable and energetic who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. The family is looking for longevity, a nanny to be with their family for the next 5-7 years, as they plan to add a 3rd child in the coming years.
