Children:
The family has two children: a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-month-old son, who will be about 4 months old when the nanny starts.G3 is energetic, talkative, and inquisitive, often full of “why” questions. She is a very sweet, intelligent and thoughtful child. She’s bright and not easily redirected, so caregivers who have successfully connected with her have learned to engage her personality by explaining reasons behind things and offering solutions. G3 thrives with activities that balance learning and play, such as reading books, building with Magna-Tiles, painting, and solving puzzles. She also enjoys helping in the kitchen and caring for her baby brother. She is currently enrolled in preschool. G3 will attend summer camps for 3 weeks and her other summer days will likely involve a mix of being at home and participating in various activities. Maintaining a consistent routine is helpful for her, and the nanny may be responsible for school drop-offs and occasional pick-ups. B1month is currently sleeping frequently throughout the day and is breastfed. While he doesn’t yet follow a set schedule, the family plans to introduce a routine around 3-4 months old, incorporating bottle feeds alongside breastfeeding. He’s a good sleeper and responds positively to interaction, especially when his sister is nearby. The family enjoys reading to him often, and they encourage outings to the nearby library, which is just two blocks away as well as engaging in social activities outside of the house. They appreciate developmentally appropriate activities and follow guidance from resources like Lovevery kits.
.
Family values:
This family values independence, curiosity, and an active social life for their child, while also prioritizing quality family time at home. They enjoy working together on family dinners and spending weekends balancing home activities with outings; though the parents also may work some weekends. Their daughter, G3, enjoys visits to the museum, zoo, and nearby Ault Park, as well as crafts, cooking in the kitchen, and outdoor activities like bike rides using their chariot. Movie nights are a cherished weekly tradition. When it comes to discipline and guidance, the family emphasizes calm communication, especially when G3 is experiencing a tantrum or challenging moment. They encourage her to identify her feelings, asking questions like, “Are you frustrated? Why is that?” They often reference Daniel Tiger as a helpful tool, teaching her to take deep breaths, count to ten, and use her words to express what’s wrong and find solutions. This dual-physician family both parents work outside of the home will appreciate a proactive and nurturing nanny/family assistant.  Mom’s schedule is unpredictable but known 1-2 months in advance. Some weeks she leaves early in the morning (around 6-7 a.m.), while other weeks she’s home until 8:30 a.m. Her return time can vary between 2-5 p.m. Both parents share responsibilities, and they encourage open communication with the nanny to keep both updated. While the Dad’s schedule is more flexible, he also dedicates significant time to work. When asked about the best part of parenting, they describe the joy of being greeted by their daughter’s happy face and the meaningful time spent together as a family.
