EXPERIENCE

Applicants must have at least 2 years professional childcare employment experience, working as a nanny, teacher, day care provider, etc.

RESUME

Professional resume including all employment from at least the last 15 years, as well as all significant childcare experience. View our Resources for Nannies for tips.

REFERENCES

We require employer and character references. CincyNanny may decline working with candidates without positive feedback.

SCREENING

Prior to hire, you will be asked  to complete a Background Check, which includes Driving Record and Drug Test.

TRAINING

A current CPR + First Aid Certification is required prior to start.  Additional courses and training are also strongly encouraged during your career. 

ASSESSMENT

Candidates must pass the INA Basic Skills Assessment. Candidates will also complete a DISC Personality Assessment.

DRIVER

Candidate’s must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record.  Some families will require you to drive the children in your own car but will reimburse mileage at the standard rate. 

NON-SMOKER

Families require nannies to be tobacco and drug free.

When I was working as a nanny for triplet boys, I missed co-workers. I started CincyNanny in 2009 to gather professional nannies for community – to simply share play dates, friendship, and resources.

Over the years, I found that nannies and families were seeking more direction and information to start set a solid foundation for the working relationship. And, I had that information to share.

I love to educate, coach and empower nannies through the process. We require families to do it right, with things like a written work agreement and legal pay.  Success looks to me looks like long-term happiness for all!
