10 Things: National Nanny Recognition Week

[ 1 ]  NNRW is a week during which families, businesses, and the media will be encouraged to focus on the positive
aspects of the nanny profession, the important role nannies play in the lives of the families and the wonderful
contributions they make in the lives of the children they care for.

[ 2 ]  NNRW began back in 1998 and is celebrating 16 years.

[ 3 ]  NNRW is always held the last week in September. This year that is Sept 21-27, 2014.

[ 4 ]  There is a website and Facebook page for NNRW. Follow along for updates and information.

[ 5 ]  Families who are familiar with NNRW may choose to celebrate their nanny. Some families offer gifts, notes of appreciation, time off or a simple “thank you” for what you do.

[ 6 ]  A letter was created to share with a nanny’s employer.

[ 7 ]  Nanny groups and communities often schedule events to during the week to celebrate with their nanny peers.

[ 8 ]  In recent years, social media has been active with encouragement during this week. You will see businesses, organizations, groups and individual nannies promoting the week!  Regarding Nannies offers their blog to share encouragement with other nannies. Check out info. for 2014 Nanny Notes.
